Ok, but what about when it's time to write like a grown up, and you've forgotten how to spell common words?

Either you be trollin or you dont understand the point of his post
It doesn't seem to have much of a point. The thread is about people trying to sum up posts with ignorant and oversimplified TL;DR versions, and he's talking about people being able to read gibberish if it slightly resembles the true word. I was just going on that from there by trying to point out you're better off just writing things the way they are instead of pushing the limits of human comprehension.

Would that also apply to 'fail' replacing roughly 100 more specific words in the English language?
People are getting dumber, and language is reflecting that. I look at videos these days with labels like "table fail" and have no idea what i'm about to watch. Language is intended to be specific and clear, yet we're going backwards and trying to use one word to cover as much as possible. Eventually we'll be back to just grunting and gesturing at things.

My guess is you'll see an example of a process failing, or having failed, with respect to a table.
If you can't deduce that from "table fail", perhaps it isn't the rest of the world who are getting dumber.
It could also be a table with one leg different than the rest. Something unusual used as a table. Some guy tripping over a table. A table breaking while people are using it. I could go on for days.
Call me old fashioned, but i like to be romanced by thread starters and video uploaders. People used to put effort into getting peoples attention, now they just use "fail". It's not enough to get my interest, but it seems to work like a charm on younger people.
The future looks so bright... 9/11 will be regarded as "WTC fail", the great depression will be "Economy fail". And all the people like yourself will declare it the best way to describe things in absolute seriousness.
